Gingerbread Man Ornaments

IMG_0279

Today we did Advent Day 1 and made these gingerbread man ornaments.

First, we traced gingerbread men onto cardboard and cut them out.

Then, we painted them with glue, which turned out to be the neat part of this activity.

We shook cinnamon on them to make them smell good. Some people shook more cinnamon than was necessary.

Then we decorated them with construction paper and sequins. Did you know that glue doesn’t stick to cinnamon?  Well, it doesn't.

Some of these turned out really cute, some of them turned out looking a little deranged but we had fun… mostly. :)  5 kids, glue, cinnamon, sequins… we had fun – keep telling yourself that! :)

LOL! You're a brave mommy!
And I had to laugh at the choice of 'deranged' as a description of some of the ginerbread men. :D

It's a cute idea though! Perhaps the kids and I shall do this one as well. :)
